Abstract: This article discusses and compares such methods for constructing a reference plan for a transport problem as the method of the northwest angle and the method of the minimum element. These methods are implemented in the C++ programming language, pseudocodes are presented. When constructing a reference plan for tasks of different sizes, it was revealed that the method of the minimum element is more effective, since the reference solution compiled according to this method, closer to the optimal solution than a plan drawn up using the northwest angle method.
