Abstract: The paper presents an approach to improving the safety of a main pipelines by the emergency situations' predicting. To achieve this, a technique for automated monitoring of operating parameters is proposed. The algorithm developed for this purpose implements time series analysis to predict future pressure levels in the pipeline. The forecast results allows to quantify the risk of the deviations from standard operating conditions, and serve as a basis for the preventive diagnostics and repair work planning.
