2-Nitro-3-(trichloromethyl)-2,3-dihydronaphtho[2,3-b/1,2-b]furan-4,9/4,5-dione: Synthesis and Structure

Abstract

The synthesis of previously unknown regioisomeric (rel-2S,3S)-2-nitro-3-(trichloromethyl)-2,3-dihydronaphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-dione and (rel-2R,3R)-2-nitro-3-(trichloromethyl)-2,3-dihydronaphtho[1,2-b]furan-4,5-dione was reported. The new compounds were structurally characterized via a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, 1H, 13C{1H}, 1H–1H COSY, 1H–13C HMQC, and 1H–13C HMBC NMR and IR spectroscopy.
