New records of Lithobiomorpha (Chilopoda) from Kazakhstan

Abstract

New faunistic records of 18 species of Lithobiomorpha from Kazakhstan are provided. The genera Shikokuobius Shinohara, 1982 and Schizotergitius Verhoeff, 1930, as well as the species Lithobius sibiricus Gerstfeldt, 1858, and L. cf. erythrocephalus C.L. Koch, 1847 are new to the fauna of the country. The following species are new to the faunas of certain administrative regions: Hessebius multicalcaratus Folkmanová, 1958 is new to the fauna of the East Kazakhstan Region; Disphaerobius loricatus (Sseliwanoff, 1881) to the Almaty Region; D. svenhedini (Verhoeff, 1934), both Lithobius crassipes L. Koch, 1862, and L. proximus Sseliwanoff, 1878 to the Abay Region; L. curtipes C.L. Koch, 1847 to the East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, and Akmola regions; L. forficatus (Linnaeus, 1758) to the Ulytau, Akmola, Zhambyl, and Pavlodar regions; L. lucifugus L. Koch, 1862 to the Aktobe Region; while the genus Hessebius Verhoeff, 1941 to the East Kazakhstan and Mangystau regions.
