Abstract: The purpose of the publication is to set a problem of approval of monopoly domination over democracy and competition in the modern world of the policy. The permanent use of arbitrary resources by global players enables them to radically restrict competition and exploit markets for their own benefit by non-economic means. The subject of the study is the characteristic of destructive processes related to this trend in post-reform Russia in exogenous and endogenous aspects. Design/Methodology/Approach: Scientific research general methods, including empirical and theoretical ones: collection and analysis of information, observation, interpretation, comparison, generalization, analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, analogy, abstraction - are fundamental for solving the tasks set in the work. Findings: As a result, it has been established that the internal policy of modern Russia is characterized by the following factors: there are no clear economic strategy guidelines; tendencies of revival and development of the armed forces and the military-industrial complex; the nationalization of the economy; dominance of energy-material model of economic development; the investment process is not supported by fundamental factors. The progressive development of Russian economy requires a peaceful, evolutionary formation of Russian society as a subject of public interest, able to counter the interests of the global system and the national, state oligarchy. The results are new and are in line with known studies of a similar orientation. Originality/Value: A promising method of solving this problem is the use of this study contributes to the theory and methodology of the development of national economic systems in the global world. Recommendations: the results of the study can be useful in teaching and studying the trends and specifics of the world economy in recent history
