| Abstract: | High spatial extension and nonuniformity of economic development of constituent entities of the Russian Federation reproduce their significant differentiation by the quality of life of the population. The improvement of methodological aspects of assessment of the quality of life is a prerequisite for the formation of well-grounded state regional policy. The authors of the research have substantiated the use of an axiological approach to the analysis of the quality of life, which involves the generation of a system of value orientations of society (terminal, instrumental, political) and assessment of the degree of their achievement by relevant indicators. Judging from problem areas and the presence of statistical data, there is a well-reasoned selection of indicators of the proportion of the working-age population working out and playing sports on a regular basis, accessibility of higher education and income level, as the indicators of the quality of life in the regions. Instrumental values characterize efforts of public and municipal authorities aimed at equalizing the living conditions in constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and their efficiency—indicators of political values (absolute poverty rate). The calculation data made it possible to draw a conclusion about a large differentiation of regions of Russia by the quality of life of the population under averaged values of indicators characterizing state regulation, and significant distinctions in the number of poor people |
