In this chapter, which is reflective of results of authors study of protest sentiment in the Stavropol Territory, consideration is given to the problem of erosion of social consensus in society which has recently become increasingly relevant. The chapter identifies conditions of rupture of consensus agreement between the authorities and society. The authors come to conclusion that erosion of consensus between the authorities and society is manifested not in the form of one-time individual campaigns, but generally in mass proportions due to the belief that only a mass expression of dissatisfaction is able to change the situation of injustice. A case study of the Stavropol Territory made it possible to identify the main trends in the dynamic pattern of protest sentiment in South Russian regionsru
