Legal consciousness of Russian society in the conditions of global digitalization

Abstract

The paper focuses on the current problems of modern Russian society – the formation of legal consciousness in the conditions of global digitalization. To identify the peculiarities of this process, the authors implement classical general scientific methods of cognition and special methods used in socio-political and historical-legal scientific research. To determine the peculiarities of the formation of legal consciousness of Russian society in the context of global digitalization, the authors identified the essence of this process, its prerequisites and results, and the relationship of the development of legal consciousness with digitalization. The research identified the primary goal of the political course of Russia. Nowadays, the country aims to increase the level of legal consciousness of the population in terms of introducing digital technology in everyday life. The authors conclude that the formation of Russian legal consciousness in the context of global digitalization directly depends on the values and capabilities of Russian society to create a mechanism to guarantee the education of national legal consciousness at the national level. This process significantly contributes to the public’s perception of various innovations, including global digitalization itself. Currently, Russia needs to revive national values that determine the future of society, the country, and the role and place of the country in the international arena. This need is especially acute during global digitalization, which precludes the isolation of any state or region. These facts allow us to consider digitalization as one of the leading criteria for the quality of life of modern society. It is necessary to note the comprehensive coverage of this process, from the economy to the average citizen. Simultaneously, the main indicator of the effective implementation of digitalization in all spheres of society is not only the level of mastery and skills to work with it but also the result of the development of society itself, which is largely reflected in the level of legal awareness of the individual. In the world of nano-technology, informatization and computerization serve as a platform for digitalization. In contrast, digitalization forms a kind of technological environment allowing the users (regardless of gender, age, income, or education) to self-define the scope of their contacts at various levels of daily life.
