Abstract: There is an effect of combining an indirect method for assessing the quality of received symbols with code methods for detecting errors. This combination is applicable at the level of the first and second decision circuits in the information transmission system, where it is possible to implement algorithms for improving the probabilistic characteristics of majority methods of protecting information from errors by combining them with indirect methods of increasing fidelity. A method for assessing the quality of received symbols was chosen based on the use of a quality detector, as it significantly increases the reliability of reception with sufficient ease of implementation. On the basis of the calculations, the advantage of combining code and indirect methods is proved and an algorithm for majority decoding based on this statement is proposed. An algorithm for improving the quality of symbol-by-symbol reception by introducing the dependence of the level of the erasing channel threshold on the value of the interference acting in the communication channel and achieving its optimality has been developed. Variants of the technical implementation of these algorithms are proposed.
