| Abstract: | The article deals with the changes in the human rights system prompted by digital technologies. They alter the content of law as an objective category as well as many legal rights of the person. The purpose of the study is to recount the types of human rights that have been greatly transformed in the digitalizing society and to reveal the trends of their incorporation in contemporary domestic and foreign law. Design/methodology/approach: The authors covered the right to digital obliteration, the right to get the information on the Internet, the right to familiarize with information on the Internet, the right to use the Internet, and the right to informational self-determination. Findings: The authors express the opinion that many traditional human rights set forth in the constitutions of many countries, the convention for the protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms have been updated in the era of digitalization. It means their adjustment to digital innovations and specification for meeting new human needs as a means of communication with the state and various civil society institutions. Uniqueness/value: The definition of digital human rights is given and a conclusion on the inevitable advancement of fundamental human rights due to digital technologies is made. The authors believe that it requires an integrated approach to the regulation of these rights and the arrangement of laws governing the exercise of legal freedoms by a person in the field of digital technologies. |
