Abstract: The article is a part of the study on the legal issues of creating a single environmentally friendly space of the Eurasian Economic Union to summarize approaches and work out recommendations to better the legal regulation of water use in the member states. Design/Methodology/Approach: The approximation of national water laws and coordination of the governing bodies of the EAEU member states is impossible without consistency between the legal frameworks and identical or similar legal regulations in each of them. In this regard, fruitful cooperation between states in the field of using and protecting water bodies, bringing into accordance and sharing experience of water resources management, harmonization of national and international water laws has become increasingly important. Findings: The authors examine the current state and framework of the water use institute; assess the opportunities and prerequisites for the unification of the current water law of the EAEU member states, their willingness to use common approaches in the legal regulation of water bodies’ utilization. Uniqueness/Value: eliminating the flaws of the current law of the EAEU member states in the field of water bodies’ utilization will help lay down the foundations of an adequate national legal model aimed at interstate cooperation, the full performance of the obligations, and filling of gaps in the field of legal regulation of water bodies’ use and protection.
