| Abstract: | The article is devoted to the problem of the spread of female crime in modern Russian conditions. An analysis of the state and main trends in the development of female crime has been carried out. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research was based on statistics from the legal portal of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation (2020). The research considered female crime not only from a criminological point of view, but also as a social phenomenon closely interlinked with the political, economic, social, and moral-ethical processes taking place in modern society. Findings: The main causes and factors contributing to the development of crime among women are assessed, as well as distinctive features of female crime are highlighted. Presented is a socio-demographic portrait of a female criminal of modern Russian society. It is noted that the main trends in the development of female crime in recent years have become: an increase in criminal professionalism and organization; increasing the level of criminal activity of women in the economic sphere; an increase in the number of serious crimes in the total mass of female crime; committing crimes of revenge, envy, jealousy; the conditionality of crimes committed by women to social and negative phenomena in society. Originality/Value: Finally it was concluded that the solution to the problem of female crime should be comprehensive and include not only the intensification of the work of law enforcement agencies, but, above all, the improvement of social support measures for families with children; The establishment of a system of social, legal, and psychological assistance for women victims of domestic violence; Improving social and legal protection and support for the labor rights of women, including those with young children; Establishing an effective social rehabilitation system for women who are addicted to drugs or alcohol; activation of an information company aimed at promoting family values, intention to have children, norms of femininity, and responsible parenthood. |
