Control Branch of Government as an Effective Means of Combating Corruption in the Information Society

Abstract

This article contains an attempt to trace the development of the control function of the state as a means of combating corruption in the context of the information space. Design/methodology/approach: Anti-corruption, an instrument of state anti-corruption policy, reflects the need for a system to counter corruption and its consequences. Findings: The article shows the essence and features of approaches to the study of the control branch of government. The main factors determining the attitude of society to corruption and anti-corruption policy and which form social attitudes are identified. Originality/value: The authors have proved the need to improve the anti-corruption legislative framework. To this end, it is important to expand it to cover all corruption mechanisms, clarify the list of corruption offenses, and legislate not only material benefits, but also intangible benefits, which may also be the motive for an official committing an offense of a corruption nature. The research identifies promising areas for further study of the process of forming the control branch of government in modern Russia and its role in combating corruption in the information space.
