Forms of Information Extremism on the Global Internet

Abstract

The presented work describes the results of the content analysis of the information environment, which poses a threat to information security due to the formation of addictive or aggressive behavior among citizens, in particular, representatives of the youth social group, as well as the provisions of the main theoretical concepts of socio-communicative transformations of modern society under the influence of large-scale informatization of Russian society. Design/methodology/approach: The growing role of the information environment as a global source of threat to the physical and mental health, spiritual and moral development of young people, especially in the context of social crises of various types, is justified. Findings: Against the background of changing the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the information environment, the redistribution and use of information content were investigated. As a result of the study, changes in the relationship between the elements of legal consciousness and social self-identification of the person that occur under the influence of information processes were revealed. Originality/value: A comprehensive system of measures of social, psychological, and legal counteraction to the destructive influence of the information space was proposed, an attempt was made to develop principles for the formation, functioning and control of the information space, in which the idea of information security, preservation of physical, psychological health, and moral well-being of citizens acquired the status of dominant in law enforcement, including in the activities of law enforcement agencies and other areas of legal practice.
