dc.description.abstractThis paper demonstrates the investigation of line capacitance change under the corona phenomenon in a real 500kV transmission line. Such an effect is not fully described and yet investigated. It is known that the corona phenomenon in TL influences and increases the reactive power of the line due to the increase in capacity. Current paper shows the correlation between transmission line admittance and capacitance calculated based on PMU data during continuous 24 hours for a real TL 500kV. Different weather conditions are considered in the study in order to demonstrate the level of capacitance increase.ru
