| Abstract: | The authors present the study results of the Stavropol Krai Budennovsky municipal district’s local settlement system (LSR) spatial arrangement current state. It is found out that the existing system headed by the city of Budyonnovsk that has a significant potential (economic, social, infrastructural) acts as a supporting planning center for the eastern part of the entire Stavropol Krai, and is closely connected with the similar systems of other municipalities in the region. As a result of the study, there is a comprehensive analysis of the existing planning structure and spatial arrangement of the settlement system current state in the Budyonnovsky municipal district. A distribution assessment and changes in the settlements population number was carried out as a changes indicator in the mentioned system of the municipality. The work was done using GIS technologies. A series of original cartographic materials is prepared at 3 scale levels: regional (NCFD/Stavropol Krai); subregional (Budennovsky municipal district); local (individual settlements). Recommendations to improve the settlement system of the municipal district are proposed. |
