Abstract: Lactoferrin can be used as an antiviral drug. In this regard, the development of methods for the isolation of lactoferrins from cow, goat and human milk, a comparative study of their physicochemical properties and an assessment of the possibility of using them as therapeutic and prophylactic agents against Sars-Cov-2 are relevant. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of ion-exchange, metal-affinity, immunoaffinity, DNA-affinity methods for the isolation of lactoferrin from women's, cow's and goat's milk. Using HPLC and immunochemical methods, the structural and functional features of isolated lactoferrins were studied. Based on the obtained results and analysis of literature data, the mechanism of interaction of lactoferrins with heparan sulfate proteoglycan (HSPGs) of cells was shown, as a result of which LF blocks the primary binding of viral particles to the cell surface. Bovine lactoferrin showed the highest activity against SARSCoV-2.
