Abstract: | The features of the electro-optical phenomenon of variations in the transparency of weakly conducting kerosene-based magnetic colloids in the near-electrode region under the action of a pulsed electric field are studied. A model that takes into account the influence of the parameters of near-electrode volume charge on the electrophoretic motion of colloidal particles is formulated for the phenomenon. The calculated time dependences of the transparency appear to be in satisfactory agreement with experimental data |
