Abstract: The paper is concerned with issues of development and introduction of digital technologies in civil proceedings in the Russian Federation. Digital technologies have been quite widely used over the last ten years in civil and arbitration proceedings in our country. Design/methodology/approach: From year to year, the possibilities of the implementation of the legal proceedings by their parties are extended remotely due to the intensive process of technological development. In this regard, the authors have made an attempt to define the concept and the essence of e-justice in the Russian Federation. Findings: The paper has defined the concept of e-justice in the Russian Federation. The classification of digital technologies in civil proceedings has been carried out. The possibilities of the use of digital technologies in the activity of civil courts have been studied. The latest innovations in the administration of justice due to the self-isolation regime as a result of the distribution of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been explored. Originality/value: The paper defines the principal directions of statutory regulation of this field of social relations and formulates the main areas of further activity of the legislator. It has been established that intensified digitalization of civil proceedings allows significantly simplifying and speeding up the process of the administration of justice, thus establishing an e-justice system in a staged manner.
