Abstract: Currently, in the context of digital transformation of education, special attention is paid to the collection and analysis of the digital footprint of the student, the study of which helps to model the physiological, psychological and cognitive characteristics of students, allows you to effectively build personal development trajectories, digital profiles of students, control the learning process, increasing its effectiveness. Based on theoretical analysis, the article reveals the essence of the concept of «digital footprint» in the concept of education, the type of collected digital footprint depending on the information system used. The purpose of the work is to form professional competencies of students based on the analysis of the active digital footprint. The authors describe the components of the digital footprint and the use of various methods and tools for data processing, such as statistical analysis, a software platform for data research using an extensive set of analytical tools KNIME Analytics Platform. The results indicate that the analysis of the active digital footprint of master’s students studying in the profile «Digital Technologies in Science and Education» contributes to the development of their professional competencies. The conclusion provides examples of practical applications of the digital footprint and draws conclusions about its main possibilities for teachers and students.
