Abstract: Pharmacological properties of pyrimidinones have been studied in relation to the antioxidant activity. All the sodium salts of hydroxystyryl derivatives exhibit pronounced antioxidant activity in contrast to 2,6-dialkylsulfamide derivatives of pyrimidin-4(1H)-one. Screening of antioxidant activity has shown that compounds containing vanillin residues IIa and o-vanillin residues IIc are the leading compounds.
