Abstract: The article discusses S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) technology as a tool for assessing the condition of hard drives and predicting potential failures. It is emphasized that in-depth analysis of S.M.A.R.T. data is critically important for timely identification of problems and prevention of information loss. The paper proposes a methodology for analyzing S.M.A.R.T. data based on the use of statistical packages. The article focuses on the key S.M.A.R.T. indicators, which are the most informative for fault prediction, and demonstrates the use of statistical methods to identify anomalies and trends in their values.
