Victory in the great patriotic war in the national memory of Russia

Abstract

The article argues the point of view that the memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is an integral part of the national mentality of the Russian peoples, closely connected with the tradition of honoring and respecting the liberators of the Fatherland. The authors of the article note that Russian society does not accept the Western idea of internationalizing historical memory, preferring to preserve and strengthen its national memory in the regions in memorials, monuments and other historical places
